Biography of Björn Wilke bjorn
Since 1994 Bjoern Wilke is a frequent name on flyers in the international club scene and his DJ career has taken a more than interesting way so far – a career which is going to last much longer.

Bjoern calls himself ”a club DJ“ although he already played in more than 20 countries all over the world and in various interesting and outstanding locations:
His repertoire comprises music trucks (on the Loveparade - Berlin, Streetparade - Zurich or Cityparade - Gent e.g.), different boats and yachts (on „Thaibreak“ in the South China Sea, „Partysan Yachting“ in Turkey or on the „Bodensee“ in Germany), trains, different sorts of bunkers, stalactite caves, roof terraces of skyscrapers in Minneapolis, in a church in Denver, on mountaintops of the Alps (“Rave on snow” – Austria) or in the Rocky Mountains.
Moreover he pounded the floors for Marlboro Tours and played on all popular open-air events throughout Germany and Europe. US-tours and gigs in the top clubs of Europe are on Bjoern’s list as well – a list, which is extending constantly.
His eventful biography is the result of Bjoern’s dedication to music and his credibility. The high level of professionalism and his “will to improve” as well as the never lasting search for innovative sound and new techniques have made him to an international recognized artist.

The career of Bjoern started after local gigs in the cologne area with regular appearances in “Space” – Ibiza, where he played from 1996 to 1998 on the (in these days underrepresented and later legendary) Space Terrace.
This was the foundation for the steadily growing attention at home and abroad.
1998 was the green light for his expected career as a producer. Since then various remixes on music labels like Nine Records (USA), Housenumber, Tonsport as well as on Hablando and Mudanza – two labels founded and managed by Bjoern himself till 2005 - have been released.
Bjoern remixed for acts like Joey Negro, Chicken Lips, Jenny B., Monsular, Joeski, Jay Tripwire, Patrick Turner, Andry Nalin, Mazi, DJ Vitamin D, Will Dawson, etc. – to name only a few.
Besides this Bjoern’s releases have been pushed by acts like Pascal FEOS, Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice etc. and take the dance floors in clubs like the DC10 on Ibiza by storm.
Not least his collaborations with acts like Jimmy Somerville (Bjoern produced two tracks of Jimmy’s latest album and world-class remixes for two album singles) or Mike Väth, the younger brother of Sven, made him to a worldwide-recognized artist.

In a word Bjoern’s time schedule is very varied and full.
After he has concluded his work for the labels Hablando and Mudanza in 2005, Bjoern now completely focuses his new and own production baby: bw-music. In April 2006 the first release was celebrated: Thaibreak Vol. 1 Compilation, an exclusive digipack containing 2 CDs, which take the listener on a musical trip to beaches and clubs of Southeast-Asia. Besides the 2 excellent DJ mixes also the compiling and design was done by Bjoern himself.
Moreover his first release on Levelnonzero Records - one of the hottest labels in the German club culture – was released in March 07. No less than the label owner Pascal FEOS himself as well as Someone Else (Philadelphia) contributed the remixes. Also coming up in early 2007 are EPs on Session Deluxe Records, Nine Records (US), Traum Schallplatten, MBF Records, Hypnotic and more - plus part 2 of his stunning Thaibreak compilation series for Thaibreak, this together with chill out goddesses Aural Float. No doubt that Bjoern is an artist that will be tough to keep up with…
